Riding Lessons

Ravensteed Equestrian offers riding instruction to all age groups, from complete beginners to advanced riders. Our experienced instructors focus on teaching correct and effective riding technique and horse-care skills. Our pupils learn to ride with confidence and style in a relaxed, fun and safe environment.

We have a range of horses to suit a variety of abilities, however we pride ourselves on our excelence in dressage and jumping.

Currently we have a weight restriction of 75kg’s. This is due to the size range of horses currently on the property.

* Buy nine lessons get the tenth for free. Package deals are prepaid and unattended lessons will not be carried over to the next week.

Lead-rein Lessons

$25 for 30 minutes (private)
Children aged 4-6 years old require private lessons as they need one-on-one attention until they are balanced and co-coordinated enough to ride off the lead safely. As learning to ride demands physical strength and mental concentration, we find that young children tend to tire easily. For this reason lead-rein lessons are confined to 30min sessions.

Holiday Afternoons

$45 per afternoon ($40 per afternoon if more than one day is booked in any week)
Holiday afternoons run during the school holidays, Tues-Fri, from 1:00pm till 5:00pm. These are aimed at riders 8-17 years. Each Holiday Afternoon includes a 45min riding lesson. Participants will learn about safe horse-handling, grooming, tacking up as well as general pony care and paddock maintenance.

Trail Rides

Approx 1.5 hours for $35
The minimum age for participation in trail rides is 12 years. Basic riding skills are required, but these may be quickly learned. All prices include GST. Lessons must be paid for in advance or on the day of the lesson. Failing to cancel a lesson without providing at least 2 hours notice, or not showing up for a lesson will incur a $20 fee, which is payable before any further lessons are given.
